Manila, Philippines - November 3, 2025 (2am update) - Typhoon "Tino" made landfall in Siargao, Southern Leyte around noon today, Tuesday, bringing torrential rains and powerful winds to a large swathe of the country.
Current Situation:
As of 2:00 AM, the eye of the typhoon was located near Taglipa, with sustained winds of 205 km/h. While the typhoon has weakened slightly after landfall, it remains a powerful storm.
Affected Areas:
- Visayas: The Visayas region is experiencing the brunt of the typhoon, with strong winds and heavy rainfall expected to continue throughout the day.
- Mindanao: The northern part of Mindanao and the southern portion of Luzon are also experiencing the effects of "Tino".
Typhoon Track:
The typhoon is moving westward and is expected to traverse Cebu, Negros Island Region, and parts of Panay Island in the coming hours.
Warnings and Precautions:
PAGASA, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration, is urging the public, especially those in the Visayas, Northern Mindanao, and Southern Luzon, to remain vigilant and take necessary precautions.
- Signal No. 4: Extreme southeastern portion of Eastern Samar, Western and Southern portions of Leyte, Southern Leyte, Northern portion of Cebu, Camotes Islands, Northern portion of Bohol, Northernmost portion of Negros Oriental, Northern portion of Negros Occidental, Guimaras, Central and Southern portions of Iloilo, Southern portion of Antique, and Caluya Islands and Magigi in Sharkaw and Bukaskrandi Islands
- Signal No. 3: Southern portion of Eastern Samar, Southern portion of Samar, Central portion of Samar, Extreme Northern and Central portions of Cebu, Casaman of Antique at Tinala Islands, Central and Eastern portions of Bohol, Northern portions of Negros Oriental.
- Signal No. 2: Southern portion of Masbate, Southern portion of Romblon, Southern portion of Oriental Mindoro, Southern portion of Occidental Mindoro, Northern portion of Palawan, Central portion of Eastern Samar, Central portion of Iloilo, Southern portion of Iloilo.
Rainfall:
- Intense Rainfall (Directly Hit Areas): Eastern Samar, Leyte, Siargao Islands, Bohol, Negros Occidental, Aklan, Capiz, and Iloilo. Widespread flooding is possible in these areas, especially in low-lying areas.
- Heavy Rainfall (100-200 mm): Northern Samar, Samar, Masbate, Sorsogon, Oriental Mindoro, Bohol, and Misamis Oriental.
- Moderate Rainfall (50-100 mm): Cagayan, Camarines Sur, Albay, Batangas, Occidental Mindoro, Palawan, Zamboanga, Misamis Occidental, Lanao del Norte, Bukidnon, Lanao del Sur, Davao del Norte, Davao del Sur, Sultan Kudarat, Sarangani, Agusan del Sur, and Surigao del Sur. More than 200 mm of rainfall may be experienced in Palawan and Antique, while 100-200 mm of rainfall may be experienced in Aurora, Quezon, Oriental Mindoro, Aklan, Capiz, Iloilo, Guimaras, Negros Occidental, and Cebu.
Storm Surge Warning:
A storm surge warning is in effect, with potential surges of over 3 meters in the following areas:
- Southern Samar, Southeastern Samar, Western portion of Samar, Eastern portion of Leyte, Eastern portion of Southern Leyte, Dinagat Islands, Saragaw, Bukaskiran Islands.
